I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my site. I created this site to help provide information for people that are trying to loose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. I know their are a lot of people that are in the same situation that I was in. I was over weight and in poor health with high blood pressure and a borderline diabetic. Back when I was overweight I wish that I had a site like this back in 2002 when I was obese. Tipping the scale at 280 pounds at only 6 feet tall, I never had energy and all I wanted to do was eat a lot of junk food. Does this sound familiar?

This site that I have put together has plenty of free tools that you can use to help you loose the weight and get you back in shape. My goal is not just to get you back in shape, but to keep you in shape for life. Loosing weight can be hard if you don't know were to start.

If you have a plan from the start you you have a much better chance to be successful in loosing the weight. All of the tips and articles are from some of the things that I had to go through when I was overweight to were I'm at today. I'm here to tell you that you can succeed in loosing weight and I will try to help you achieve that goal. To loose weight and keep it off is such a great accomplishment.

Their are 3 things you must remember about weight loss!

* Plan

* Action

* Motivation

To keep the weight off you have to find something that motivates you. It could be your family, health, or just plain old vanity. I will never forget going into the doctors office and he told me that if I didn't loose weight I could possible have a heart attack by the age of 35. That was all that I needed to turn my life around. Please don't let it get to that point, I will try to help you avoid that. Take your time an browse the many feature we have in this site to aid you in your weight loss goals. You will find many tips that will aid you in your weight loss goals. You just being on this site means that you want to make a change.

Some of the many questions that I receive.

1. What are some of the things I can do right now to start loosing weight?

You can start by changing the way that you eat your food. Instead of eating 2 to 3 times a day. Changes your eating schedule to 5 to 6 small meals a day, this will greatly boost your metabolism. ( the way your body burns fat ) If you eat like this you will be a lot less prone to overeating, which has gotten so many people in trouble these days. You can expect to loose weight in your first wee if you begin to eat this way.

2. What are some of the best foods for weight loss?

I get this question quite often. The main thing you want to do is to eat a balanced diet. I'm not real big on cutting out certain foods from your diet, just cutting back on certain foods. Make sure that you have plenty of fiber in your diet. If you like to eat meat, make sure it's lean meats. Fruits ans vegetables are essential to loosing and  maintaining weight. Keep plenty of healthy snacks around like granola bars, nuts, fat free yogurt, these are great to eat between meals.

3. I think I might know the answer to this question, but what are some of the foods that I should avoid?

You should avoid a lot of the processed foods. They are loaded with so many additives and preservatives which are not healthy for you. Most of the process foods are in packages. Foods like potato chips, cookies, candy......ect Also try to keep your starch foods to a minimum. Foods like potatoes, white rice, and white bread. Keep all of your consumption of these types of food to a minimum.

4. Their are so many diets on the market these days, which one should I choose?

When choosing any diet one thing you should remember is that a balanced diet is the key to loosing weight and keeping it off. Their are many diets on the market today such as the Adkins Diet, The Cookie Diet, Vegetarian Diet. Not to say that their are problems with these diets, but they are just not known for long time success results. Most people that do get on these type of diets tend to gain the weight right back because they are not balanced diets.

5. I have never been the type of person that has exercised. What are some of the things that I could do to get started?

You could first start a walking program. This will get your body moving and get you used to a physical routine. When you are ready to move to that next step you can start jogging. I recommend that you get an exercise ball, they only run about $10 an their are so many exercises that you can do with them. Jumping rope is also good to increase your cardio. It does take your body some time for you body to get used to exercise. One thing that you will notice  is how much better you will feel. You are on your way to living a much healthier lifestyle.

6. I have a disability I only have movement from the waist up. What are some of the exercises that I could do?

I would like to suggest that you purchase a pair of dumbbells, probably in the 5 to 15 pound range. You could do dumbbell curls from a sitting position. Also dumbbell raises in which from a sitting position with the dumbbells at your side, the raise them chest high. This is a great exercise to keep your muscle strength up. Make sure you purchase some hand grips, these will keep your hands strong. Make sure you do plenty of arm stretches to keep your flexibility.

7. I know that I need to workout but I always loose motivation after a while. What could I do to stay motivated?

When you start any weight loss plan you have to find something that truly motivates you to continue. Ask yourself in the beginning, why do I want to get in shape? You could possibly want to get into shape for many reasons.

* Health reasons

* Clothes to fit better

* Tired of being overweight.

* Family

Think about your reasons for working out. When you feel like giving up. Think about why you wanted to get into shape in the first place. Also a great habit to get into is to write down your goals that you want to obtain. When you reach those goals, set new ones. You will find out that your motivation will be to meet your next goal you are striving for.

8. Should a pregnant woman work out?

This is a very good question. You should first contact your doctor to ask his opinion. I think that walking and stretching exercises would be appropriate for you.

Congratulations on your baby!

9. I have small problem, my 10 year class reunion is in one month. Do you think fasting is a good idea?

Fasting is never a good idea. You are just depriving yourself of nutrients your body needs. The weight that you will loose will be just water weight. The weight that you will loose will only be temporary and you will gain it back. This is just a short term fix.

10. I'm 53 years old, I did two things that worked for me. First, I hired a trainer to learn how to exercise properly. Most people exercise incorrectly and never achieve the results they are after.Second, I reduced the amount of processed foods that I had been eating. Instead, I ate more natural foods and did my own cooking. Huge difference. Not only did I drop weight but I also increased strength.
