Eating a good healthy breakfast

Bookmark and Share

I know that life can get kind of hectic sometimes. We are all in a rush to go to work, take care of the kids......ect

One important thing to remember to do is to eat a healthy breakfast. A good healthy breakfast will give you the energy that you need to make it through the day. A good healthy breakfast is the cornerstone of a good diet. Most good breakfast foods are ones that contain a lot of fiber, and eating these types of foods for breakfast will lower your cholesterol. Such breakfast foods that are high in fiber are whole grain cereals, fruits and oatmeal. It's OK every now an then to have a real hardy breakfast like bacon and eggs, but keep it to a minimum.

I noticed that when I was 270 pounds, I would always skip breakfast thinking that I didn't need breakfast. Boy was I wrong!By the time lunch time came around I would always overeat. The cardinal sin.....LOL

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day

When I took the advice of my doctor about eating breakfast, I noticed that I was not as hungry as I normally would be during lunch time. Try to stay away from all of the sugary processed breakfast cereals, the are loaded with a ton of sugar. Stick with the whole grain cereals, processed breakfast cereals will elevate your blood sugar levels and increase your appetite to eat more. Something that you really don't need. How often do you skip breakfast?

  1. Eating well is the hardest part of what I have to deal with. I was at 285 pounds at one time and after going on the South Beach diet was able to get as low as 228 since then I have plateaued and no matter how hard I train I remain consistent at my current weight. The only answer I have come with is that my eating habits are not ideal. So I am following your advice on breakfast and changing my eating habits as well. Great post keep it up.

  2. It does take some time changing your eating habits, it won't happen over night. But as long as you make it a priority you will make things happen. Congrats on your weight loss! We all need to root each other on.....
