Fat is needed to store energy and regulate body temperature, but just as there are two kinds of cholesterol. The bad stuff and the good stuff, so is it with body fat.
It also provides a cushion for our internal organs, particularly in the abdomen and the chest. As your fat cells increase, your risk increases exponentially.
One rule to remember is that men should aim for lower than 20 percent body fat, and woman should strive for 30 percent body fat or less. Keeping your percentage down will help with your overall energy and it will keep you healthy for years to come. How much body fat do you need to loose?
