Fasting to loose weight has been around for centuries. People who fast to loose weight generally want to loose weight very quickly. At best, it's just a short term fix for loosing weight. this is something that shouldn't be done on a frequent basis.

How fasting works

When you are fasting you are dramatically reducing your calorie intake so you can loose weight. Their are a lot of different fasting diets that are out their today. Most consist of liquid diet and drinking plenty of fluid through out the day. Your body will begin to burn off a lot of your fat cells when you restrict your calorie intake.

If you fast for a couple of days, you will probably be able to get into those clothes that were kind of tight on you. Their are some big downside issues to fasting and most of this has to do with the manner at which you are loosing the weight. Since you are restricting your calorie intake so much you will loose a lot of your muscle tissue and also water. You would only actually loose a small amount of fat, which is probably what you wanted to loose in the first place. If you choose to do a fasting diet for a couple of days you may be very irritable, moody, or depressed. So if you choose to do this type of diet, know going into it that it is just a short term fix.
