When I was growing up physical fitness wasn't stressed that much in my household. I kind of grew up thinking that you could just eat anything that you want and it wouldn't hurt you. As you can imagine I picked up a lot of bad habits in my youth. Eating whatever I wanted.
People tend to leave out the youth when it comes to physical fitness. The way things are today kids are so busy playing video games, and watching every new tv show that comes out. I think all kids should be active in some sort of sports like soccer, softball, dodge ball, or football.
Their are numerous benefits for kids that exercise
* They will have a much more fit body than kids that do not exercise.
* They will have a much more positive outlook on life, a very high self esteem which is lacking in today's youth.
* Will also lower their risk of developing juvenile diabetes which is so prevalent right now.
* Develop good habits that will benefit them for the rest of their life.
* Also they will sleep better and have a better understanding on how to deal with life's pressures at a young age.
Parents should always stress to their children the importance of physical fitness. They should not force their children to participate in physical activities that they don't like. This will only lead to resentment from the child. It's good to let them choose which sport they would like to participate in. This will ensure the overall well being of the child. We all know that all kids want to really do is just have fun, so let them pick the activity. One thing about kids is that they are really good at letting you know if they like certain activities. How much pressure would you put on your kids to exercise?
