Have you ever had that embarrassing doctor visit in which the doctor says "Looks like you gained 15 pounds since your last visit" and you start thinking about all the things that you have done to gain the extra weight since your last visit. Nine times out of ten your doctor probably told you that you needed to loose a few pounds.
Don't get mad at him, because he is just doing his job. Most people don't really take the doctors recommendations to heart, until they have some sort of major problem. Listen to your doctor, he only wants to help you. If you need to loose weight, be proactive and discuss this with your doctor. He will probably put you on a good diet and exercise program.

Diet
The doctor will most likely put you on a diet that is low in fat and high in nutrients. Their are so many healthy choices out their. A lot of people think that healthy food doesn't taste good, this is false. Just like anything else it will take time to get used to your new diet plan.
Exercise
If you are overweight your doctor will put you on an exercise program. The key to succeeding in this is to find a exercise that you like to do. If you played sports back in high school or college, just remember how much you love to play that particular sport. You may not be in the same shape as you were back then, but that same motivation will get you back in shape today. Three or four months down the line when you have to see your doctor again, he will be amazed at all of the weight that you have lost. I bet you can't wait to see the look he has in his eyes. Did you take your doctors advice when they said you had to loose weight?
