Have you thought about losing weight but don't know where to start? I will give you some great tips that you can use to start loosing weight today. A lot of people think that loosing weight is hard, but it really doesn't have to be. You just need to set your weight loss goals that you would like to achieve. One of the first things that you have to ask yourself is how bad do you really want to loose weight? Depending on your answer, it will greatly impact your weight loss endeavors. You want to make sure that you document your weight loss diet in a journal. This is a good thing because you will be able to look back an track if you are on the right path to weight loss, and adjust accordingly.

Diet and nutrition

You want to make sure that you stock your pantry with nothing but healthy food choices. A good thing about doing this is that you will not be tempted if the bad food is not their and is out of sight. Give your pantry a makeover, you could stock it with fresh fruit, 100% whole wheat bread, and plenty of low fat snacks. You want to stock your refrigerator with low fat lean meats.

Make sure that you stay away from a lot of foods that have trans fats, foods that have a lot of trans fats are diet killers. Trans fats don't promote good help at all and they will greatly increase your chances of developing coronary heart disease if you eat these types of foods overtime. The best thing to do is to just stay away from these types of foods. You should never, I repeat never skip any meals. You should be eating 5 to 6 small meals per day to keep your metabolism high.

Just because you are eating small meals a day, doesn't mean that they can be big meals. Don't be tempted to eat large meals because this will even make you gain even more weight. The individual meals should be no more than 300 calories a piece. You want to make sure that you are drinking 8 glasses of water per day to hydrate the body.

Exercise

If you have never exercised before you probably will want to run it by your doctor to make sure that you don't have any underlying problems with your body. When you first start out exercise plan you want to make sure that you take it slow and work your way up. I've seen so many people overdue it in the beginning and they either get injured or they just give up and quit training. When you start an exercise program you will want to incorporate strength training and also cardio vascular training. This will give you the overall fitness benefit. Before you exercise you will want to make sure that your muscles are fully stretched, not doing so will cause you to pull a muscle and injure yourself so make sure that you do this. Always work out with a weight that you a comfortable with working out with, this will also keep you from getting injured. Also you can start a walking program to build up you stamina. One key thing to remember about this is to start off at the bottom, never start running if you have not ran in a while.

Its a good idea to exercise no more that 5 days per week. Your body rebuilds itself during your rest periods, so its a good idea to make sure you are getting your proper rest. One thing that you will notice is how refreshed you will feel after getting your proper rest. That's when you will be able to increase the intensity of your exercises.

Motivation for working out

This is very important when it comes to healthy living and weight loss. You have to ask yourself what is my motivation for weight loss? Their could be many numerous answers that you come up with when you ask yourself this question. Some people want to Enjoy delicious low carb food without the hassle. We'll cook the food, you'll lose the weight. start working out because of the health benefits, others just want to be able to climb a flight of stairs without being winded. Some people just want their clothes to fit better. The best of all is that I want to be more attractive(vanity) which is fine to each is own. Their will be times when you will think about just giving up on healthy living and your motivation will keep you coming back. So, I will like to ask you what is your motivation?

* Keep in mind that these changes tend to take some time to get used too. You have to keep telling yourself that these changes are for the long run and it will do you a lot of good. If you keep the right positive attitude you will be able to achieve ALL of your weight loss goals that you strive for.
