Just because the weather is cold outside doesn't mean that you have to miss out on your workouts. You just have to make sure that you take the proper precautions when exercising in the cold weather.
Make sure you are wearing proper clothing
When you are working out in cold weather, you must make sure that you are dressed properly. Sometimes I will see runners logging in shorts and short sleeve shorts and short sleeve shirts in 30 degree weather! If you do this you are setting yourself up for getting sick or pulling your muscles due to the cold weather. Make sure you are wearing something that is synthetic, because it is very well insulated and it keeps your body heat in. Body tights are very good also.

Still drink your fluids
Some people may think that you don't need to drink fluids just because it's the winter time. This is so far from the truth. Try not to drink to much water before you start exercising, because this will lead to stomach cramps. If at all possible, make sure that you drink some fluids with you when you go exercise.
Keep your head warm
This is so important, because if your head is not covered all of your body heat will escape through your head. This will leave you open for dehydration and possibly catching a head cold. So make sure that you purchase a good jacket with a hood and a winter skull cap.
Do you proper warm up
Make sure that you warm up a little more than you would than if the weather was warm. I say about 10 to 15 minutes to get your blood flowing and your body warm. This will greatly reduce the chances of you getting cramps and muscle pulls which would keep you from working out for quite some time. If you think the weather is just to cold to work out in, you probably will do better by working out in your home gym or your local gym. Always use your best judgment on this. What I have learned is that it is best to eat plenty of It's a proven strategy that has worked for thousands of others. It's easy, it's delicious ...nutritional food at this time of the year because of colds, flu, ect..........
So keep in mind that just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you should cancel your your workouts. Their are so many different alternatives. How do you feel about working out in the cold weather?
