If you have a passion for running and you have seemed to hit a wall it would probably be a great idea to join a running club. It's a great way for you to be around people that have the same or greater passion for running. They will understand the trials and tribulations of running to stay in shape and to live a healthier lifestyle.
Their are so many running clubs that you can join these days. If you are real ambitious you could start your very own runner's club with you own rules. No one person in the group knows it all, that's why being in a group is so good because you will be able to bounce ideas and techniques off of each other.
Running club benefits
1. Safe courses in which to run.
2. Someone to push and to motivate you.
3. Help each other train for the next marathon.
4. Members discounts on running apparel and shoes.
5. Achieve a higher social status.
6. Train with some of the best runners in your area.
7. Share training ideas with others.
8. Ability to recruit other great runners which strengthen the group.
9. Increase your overall running endurance.
10. Chance to compete with other groups in the area.
I think that the main benefit is overall physical health for all of the groups members.
The competition factor is what really drives the memberships in running clubs. You may have never noticed, but every club has that one runner that just kills everybody. It's motivation enough just to strive and try to beat the best runner in the club so you can have the top bragging rights. A runner's club could be the thing that you have been looking for. If you have been in a runners club, what are some of your experiences that you have had with them?
