This is a question that I normally get asked by people who are just getting started in their weight loss endeavor. Should I run or lift weights? I personally think that you should start off by walking and work you way up to running. After you have built up a little stamina, I would then start working out with light weights. A lot of it depends on your fitness level. If you have been the type of person that has never worked out at all, you would have to go at a much slower pace than someone with a higher fitness level.
If you think you can combine both lifting weights and running, you will drop pounds and get in shape much quicker.
Key steps to remember
* Don't overdue it, especially in the beginning.
* Keep in mind that you are in it for the long haul.
* Don't get discouraged, weight loss does take some time.
* Remember not to look at the weight scale daily. This is not good for the long term mental aspect of loosing weight. Only weight yourself once a week.
* Last but not least, don't let anything stop you in you weight loss goals.
No one has ever said that loosing weight would be easy. You just have to find your path to loosing the weight that you would like to loose. If you are just getting started with working out. What do you think would be better for you to run or to lift weights or both?
