When you think of weight lifting you normally think of only adults lifting weights. I received a contact from a person asking me is it a good idea for me to let my son lift weights? I asked "how old is your son" she told me he was only 8 years old? I think this is just entirely to too young for someone of that age to be lifting weights. This will do nothing but stunt the little guys growth and do more damage than good.
It would be much better if you could get your child to play some sort of sport like soccer, softball, basketball, or football....ect
Kids will generally let you know what kind of particular sport that they really like. If your child see you working out with weights, it's only natural that they would want to follow in your footsteps and do what you do.
You just will have to explain to them about why they need to weight until they are at least 12 or 13 years old before they start lifting weights. What would be your reaction if your kid came to you and said that they wanted to start lifting weights?
