Their are a million and one ways to loose weight these days, but did you know that something as basic as walking was one of the most popular? Walking is so popular because not everyone in the world can bench press 300 pounds or run 5 miles. It's something that most people do every day. If you haven't exercised in years this is a perfect place for you to start.

Did you know that walking is a perfect exercise in which you can burn anywhere from 200 to 400 calories? This is something that you can't make anymore excuses about unless you have a physical disability that keeps you from doing so. Almost every neighborhood has a track or if you don't have a track you can walk around your block. I have seen people power walking in the malls in the early morning hours.

Steps that you can do today to start burning fat by walking
  •  Set up a time schedule in the morning or evening so that you can walk. (Hint) Morning time can be better because the weather is cooler.
  • If walking out doors is just not you thing, why not get yourself a treadmill. They are very reasonably priced. This way rain, sleet, snow or shine will never stop you from walking again.
  • If you like to keep up with your progress make sure that you get a  walking step counter. The step counter actually tells you how many steps that you have taken and also more importantly, how many calories that you have burned during the process.
  • Make sure that you have a good pair of walking shoes. They should last you anywhere from 3 to 4 months and as soon as they are worn replace them immediately.



Hope these simple steps at least help you get started. Make a habit of walking and you soon will be burning fat 24/7!
