If you have been thinking about loosing weight their are some things that you should know so you won't be wasting your efforts on you new weight loss journey. First of all, you need to ask your self how much weight would you like to loose? You will be surprised at how many people that haven't even thought about this basic question.

Just like any other worthwhile endeavor in life, you need to have a plan of action. In the world of weight loss it is no different.

Ask yourself these questions
  • How much weight do I want to loose?
  • Why do I want to loose weight?
  • What are my short term goals?
  • What are my long term goals?
Answer these key questions, and by all means be honest with your self!

If loosing weight is so easy everyone would be doing it. It takes a lot of hard work, determination and drive to loose weight and more importantly keeping it off. Most people tend to fail in weight loss because of not having goals set in place. It's best to start off slow in the beginning when you are loosing weight because you have to give your body and mind time to adjust to your new healthy habits.

Goal #1 Eliminate all the junk food

Does your current diet consist of junk food such as pizza, hamburger and fries, and shakes. One great way to eliminate this habit is to not go to these types of places that often. Not to say that you can't go at all, but try to eliminate going frequently. Now when I say frequently, I mean 3 or more times a week. This is just entirely to much! Limit the fast foods to no more than 2 times a week.

Goal #2 Start an exercise program

When you begin to start your exercise program, you don't need to go out and run 20 miles a day! I see so many people get discouraged that they can't start off at the top. You will soon find out that you just have to go at it at your own pace.

You will notice that when you put forth the effort, you stamina will increase an you will be able to do a lot more than you could do before. Working out is a great stress reliever, when you have a hard day at work don't turn to food for comfort. Redirect that energy to your workouts. This is what I call "Letting stress work in your favor" Try it! It does work.

Remember that you are making a lifestyle change and it does take some time, but if you have your weight loss goals in place you will be well on your way to reaching them and then some!
