This is a question that I have been asked quite a bit! I know that this is not a politically correct answer to say, but yes you can still loose weight if you drink alcohol. Now, would it be easier if you were to just stop drinking? Yes it would be, but I know that is just NOT going to happen.
It has to be a very minimum amount of alcohol per week. Here is the break down.
- Beer = No more than 18 ounces per week
- Mixed drinks = No more than 10 ounces per week
- Shots = No more than 4 regular shots per week. Unless it's your birthday!
- Wine = No more than 4 eight ounce glasses per week.
One major problem that people tend to run into is that they are drinking a lot of alcohol before they figure out they want to loose weight. It's very hard to drastically cut back if you are used to consuming large amounts of alcohol. This is were you may need some professional help from an expert.
Always remember that moderation is the key to success in weight loss.
