If you are just " going through the motions " when you are working out, then you shouldn't expect too much. When it comes to working out you get what you put into it. The harder you work out, the more results you will see and you will be much more motivated to continue.
2. Doing too much
It's good to push yourself while you are working out, but their is such a thing as over working yourself. If you are very sore the next day after several months of working out ........ you are working out too much! Believe me your body has a way of letting you know that you have done too much. Push yourself when you are working out, but try no to go over the limit. Listen to your body!
3. Stay away from the scale
Getting on the scale every day will not help you lose weight. In fact, it can be very detrimental for you in reaching your weight loss goals. Your weight will fluctuate from day to day, with that being said it can have a negative effect on your overall efforts. Stick with weighing yourself ounce per week, then adjust your plans accordingly. Actually think about how you would feel if you have been working your butt off and you weigh yourself and you have gained 3 pounds from yesterday? Just stay away!
4. Results do take some time
Don't expect to lose 20 pounds in a week! It takes some time to get back into shape. Remember that it took some time to put on the weight, so it will take some time to get it off.
5. Not establishing a routine
Set up a time frame to when you can exercise. It really doesn't have to be in a straight session, it could be broken down in different intervals. We are all creatures of habit, working out is no different. Set up a doable workout schedule and stick with it! If you have to change it that's fine. Remember to establish a routine.
