What is the best time of the day to do cardio?

This is a question that I get a lot lately. The absolute best time to do cardio is in the morning and on an empty stomach. The main reason of this is because you have not eaten any food for about 6 to 8 hours. This is "prime time" for you to burn your fat reserves. Your body will burn all of it's reserves since you are working out on an empty stomach. You will also notice how much more you get out of your workouts when you do it this way!

Who would benefit from doing cardio early in the morning?
  • Anyone looking for that edge
  • Someone needing to lose weight quickly
  • Anyone too busy to workout in the afternoon
  • A person that is results driven
  • Obese person

As you can see their are many people and situations that would greatly benefit doing their cardio first thing in the morning. When you get through training in the morning on a empty stomach, It's good to have a good post workout snack right after your workout.

Good post workout snacks

Trail mix
Granola bars
Nuts
Fruit
1 Can of tuna fish
Small bowl of whole grain cereal

This will quickly give your body a boost after that grueling morning workout. Morning workouts will often give you a boost to help you make it through another stressful day. This will really benefit you big time if you give it a try! Let me know if this method will help you reach your weight loss goals quicker.
